About

This page explains who makes Flag Master (this site) and the rules it follows.

What this site is for

Flag Master is a site for learning the flags, names, and locations of the world’s countries (the 193 UN member states plus Vatican City and Kosovo, 195 in all) in a fun way with a 4-choice quiz. Everything works without signing up.

Who runs it

Flag Master is a personal project run by a university student, who builds it using Claude, an AI made by Anthropic. It is not a company or organization website.

What the quiz asks

Questions only use flags, country names, and locations. Capitals are shown in the explanation after each answer and in the Gallery (no question asks for a capital).

How country names are written

In the English version, country names follow the titles of the articles on English Wikipedia. Disambiguation notes in parentheses are dropped (for example, “Georgia (country)” is shown as Georgia). Ireland is shown as Ireland, not by its article title, “Republic of Ireland.”

About the borders on the map

The borders on the map are drawn from Natural Earth map data. The border lines do not represent the position of the Japanese government.
